Cindy Rowe, Principal of Rowe Resources, has worked for over twenty years with more than fifty non-profit organizations, government agencies, and political campaigns, helping them maximize their resources in the areas of fundraising, special event and conference planning, board management, and legislative advocacy. She has particular expertise in working with small to mid-size non-profits, guiding their board and staff members in developing successful fundraising events, and conducts workshops on this topic quite frequently. Prior to launching her own consulting practice, she managed a statewide political campaign and worked for both the Administration and Legislature in the areas of public policy and community affairs. She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard College, and her J.D. from Boston College Law School. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar, as well as several non-profit and community boards.

Here are a few examples:

Statewide Housing Association:

Fundraising: Developed a fundraising campaign to provide support for federal budget activities. Worked with board on targeted campaign to increase memberships in specific industries. Researched and wrote grants.

Conference Planning: Organized 14 major conferences for government officials and housing activists throughout New England on federal budget issues. Responsible for overall conference agenda, speakers, invitation, and site logistics.

Legislative Advocacy: Coordinate federal public policy work for six statewide agencies throughout New England.

Statewide Cultural Advocacy organization:

Advised statewide organization of cultural groups on fundraising, legislative advocacy, media strategy, and board/subcommittee organization. Wrote materials for fundraising, membership mailings, and media. Organized membership campaign, tripling membership from prior year.

Health Care Advocacy Non-Profit:

Organized major tenth anniversary fundraiser and other events. Worked with staff, board, and events committee on sponsorship solicitation strategy. Drafted written materials.

Public Housing Authority:

Responsible for final writing and editing of successful $30 million grant proposal to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for extensive reconstruction of infrastructure, social service programs, and economic development of a major housing development.

Jewish Community Social Justice Organization:

Organized all development initiatives, including several major fundraising dinners; capital campaign for new staff; annual fund; membership campaigns; and grantwriting. Helped to design and implement strategy to involve board members in all administrative aspects of the organization, including membership, fundraising, communications, budgeting, and board development.
